* WHAT...A Typhoon Warning remains in effect through at least Tuesday night.
* WHERE...Marianas Coastal Waters.
* WHEN...Damaging winds expected from late this afternoon through early Tuesday morning. Destructive typhoon force winds expected early Monday morning through early Monday afternoon with the passage of Super Typhoon Bavi.
* IMPACTS...Sustained winds of 150 kt with gusts to 180 kt near the center. Seas of up to 45 feet near the storm center.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Typhoon conditions, including winds of 64 knots or more, are expected within the next 24 hours as Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) approaches the region. Bavi continues to strengthen and is still expected to pass through the Marianas at Category 5 strength. However, there is still uncertainty as to which islands will receive the strongest impacts due to irregular longitudinal shifts in motion. The latest model guidance continues to indicate a path near or just north of Rota, but the forecast track will continue to change over the next 24 hours. All of the islands will see impacts, but the islands closest to the storm center passage will experience significantly worse conditions.

.NEW INFORMATION... A Typhoon Warning has now been issued.
.AREAS AFFECTED... This local statement provides important information and recommended actions for people in Guam and the Northern Marianas.
.WATCHES/WARNINGS... A Typhoon Warning is now in effect for Guam, Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.
Typhoon force winds of 74 mph or more are expected, with the onset of damaging winds expected within 24 to 48 hours.
A Tropical Storm Watch continues for Alamagan, Pagan and Agrihan.
A Flood Watch is in effect for all of Guam and the Northern Marianas. Please listen closely for any Flood Warnings that might be in effect for your area.

.STORM INFORMATION... At 1 PM ChST, the center of Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) was located near latitude 12.5N, longitude 151.2E. This was about 435 miles east of Guam. Storm motion was west-southwest, 255 degrees, at 8 mph. Storm intensity was 160 mph.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW... A Typhoon Warning has now been issued. Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) is expected to make passage through the southern Marianas beginning Monday morning at Category 5 strength. It is expected to make a turn toward the west-northwest and gradually increase in forward speed through Sunday, when tropical storm force conditions will begin to be felt across the islands. The onset of tropical storm force conditions is currently expected late Sunday afternoon or Sunday evening. The latest forecast track still maintains passage somewhere near or to the north of Rota Island, but there is time for the track to shift north or south. All islands will experience impacts. At minimum, damaging tropical storm force conditions are expected, but damage will be catastrophic near the center of Super Typhoon Bavi, with maximum sustained winds forecast at 160 mph at time of passage. Significant flooding from torrential rains, and coastal inundation are expected. Surf will become extremely dangerous ahead of Bavi's approach, potentially reaching 30 feet Monday. Significant coastal inundation and erosion are expected, with inundation of 10 to 15 feet possible.
For the islands closest to passage of Super Typhoon Bavi, the onset of typhoon conditions is expected early Monday morning just ahead of Bavi's center, continuing through Monday afternoon. The latest forecast from the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) suggests that destructive typhoon conditions may be expected for 8 to 10 hours close to the center's passage, which will depend on Bavi's forward speed.

DVIDS (CENTCOM / DoD): 621st Contingency Response Wing Responds to Accelerate Earthquake Disaster Relief in Venezuela

SIMÓN BOLÍVAR INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, Venezuela — In the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, U.S. military forces have mobilized to support a Department of State-led disaster assistance mission to deliver critical relief to the region.
At the direction of U.S. Southern Command, the 621st Contingency Response Wing deployed a Contingency Response Element (CRE) from the 321st Contingency Response Squadron to Simón Bolívar International Airport. The 110-Airman element is working with local aviation authorities, the Venezuelan interim authority, and the U.S. interagency response team to safely expand the intake of humanitarian aid via air transport.
First on the ground, the Contingency Response Airfield Assessment Team evaluated the airfield’s structural integrity and runway load-bearing capacity to ensure heavy cargo aircraft could land safely. Once verified, the remaining CRE elements arrived to establish airfield operations in support of the host nation’s air traffic control operations, airfield management, and cargo handling.
“The ability of our Contingency Response Airmen to quickly adapt to their environment and inject the order needed to move aid is nothing short of amazing, which the entire joint force and interagency immediately recognized,” said Col. Joseph Michaels, 621st Contingency Response Group commander.
By stepping in to help manage tower and ground operations, the Airmen are clearing logistical bottlenecks. This critical infrastructure support ensures that vital supplies, heavy equipment, and relief personnel reach the front lines of the disaster zone as quickly and safely as possible.
"I am immensely proud of our Griffins and their selfless service in supporting the Venezuelan people,” said Lt. Col. Jessica Foster, 321st Contingency Response Squadron commander. “During any crisis, international cooperation is essential, but it is the incredible tenacity and profound care for humanity our Airmen have showcased that is truly awe-inspiring. It is a privilege to lead such an impressive and inspiring team."
Executing rapid mobility operations in the wake of natural disasters is a cornerstone of the 621st Contingency Response Wing’s mission. Known as the "Devil Raiders," the wing has built a proven history of delivering critical humanitarian assistance and disaster relief on a global scale.
When a devastating earthquake struck Haiti in 2010, the wing provided vital airfield operations expertise in the immediate aftermath. That same year, the wing managed complex logistical flows to support relief efforts during the massive floods in Pakistan.

What Makes Rapid Alerts Different
Every item here clears a multi-step check before it reaches you. No raw wire copy. No speculation. Each alert is drawn from government, official, and verified primary sources, cross-checked and scored for reliability before publishing.
Alerts come through two paths: live monitoring of official and primary source feeds, and direct messages from our team when a development warrants immediate attention. Team messages are labeled "From our team."
The confidence chip on each alert tells you what kind of verification it carries, at a glance. Source attribution is included so you can trace every item back to its origin.
For detailed analysis and expanded reporting on major events, see the main Alerts page. The Rapid stream is built for speed on fast-moving developments.
Continuously updated. New items appear here as they clear verification.
Expanding Coverage: This stream is actively growing. New sources, regions, and alert categories are added on a regular basis. You may notice the coverage mix evolving as the network expands.
Reading the Confidence Chip
Each alert carries one chip that tells you its reliability level at a glance:
- Tier 1: Highest confidence. Confirmed by multiple authoritative or official sources.
- Tier 2: Strong but still developing. Backed by credible sources, with verification ongoing.
- Multi-source: Cleared sourcing, consistency, and accuracy checks; corroborated by independent reports.
Every item also clears the same checks before publishing, whichever chip it carries; the box above explains what "cleared" means. Sourcing detail (how many independent reports, whether it is a primary/official source) is shown per-alert in its "Sources" line.
How to Use This Feed
- Scan fast: The title, timestamp, and chips give you everything you need without reading the full alert.
- Trust the chip: Tier 1 and Tier 2 mean confirmed by multiple sources, at different confidence levels. Multi-source means corroborated but not yet at tier confidence. Each alert's "Sources" line spells out the detail.
- Check back: New items appear as they clear verification. The UTC clock shows you exactly how fresh the feed is.
- Need more depth? Major events get full analysis on the main Alerts page.
