U.S. Africa Command Strikes al-Shabaab Near Welmaro in Seventh July Operation
SOMALIA — U.S. Africa Command conducted an airstrike targeting al-Shabaab on July 15 in the vicinity of Welmaro, approximately 62 miles (100 km) north of Kismayo. The command released the statement on July 20.
The July 15 strike was the seventh airstrike AFRICOM announced against al-Shabaab in Somalia between July 3 and July 15, all conducted in coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar has resulted in a debris flow moving through the Beaver River from Beaver City to Minersville reservoir. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
The following information is being relayed by Beaver County... "BEAVER COUNTY ALERT: All of Beaver is now in READY status, prepare to evacuate if notified. Please stay out of flood-impacted areas unless you are an official responder. Extra traffic and bystanders are blocking critical access routes and delaying rescue crews. Rainfall will become heavy at times this afternoon and continue through tonight before rain lightens up on Monday. Total rainfall amounts through Monday afternoon will range from 4 to 6 inches, with highest amounts in the mountains. Rapid river rises will cause flooding along area rivers, creeks, and streams and nearby roads. The Seward Airport runway will also flood and could be covered with debris from the Resurrection River. - Water levels will crest Monday morning through Monday afternoon, then quickly begin to fall Monday night through Tuesday. Rainfall will taper off late Monday afternoon or early Monday evening. TAMPA, Fla. - Yesterday, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the passing of two U.S. service members and the missing status of one in Jordan following an Iranian attack on July 17. After a thorough search, U.S. military personnel found unidentified remains at the location earlier today. An examination process to verify the remains is ongoing.
Separately, a U.S. service member in northern Iraq was killed in action July 18 during a controlled detonation of unexploded ordnance from a downed Iranian one-way attack drone. A second service member was wounded and continues to receive medical treatment for a minor injury.
CENTCOM is withholding additional information, including the identities of the missing and fallen warriors, out of respect for the families during the notification process.

U.S. Embassy Cites Aqaba Evacuation Threat, Jordan Says Facilities Operate Normally
JORDAN — On Sunday the U.S. Embassy Amman cited a specific and credible threat that prompted Jordanian authorities to evacuate the international airport and seaport in Aqaba, and strongly advised all Americans to refrain from travel to either facility.
It continues to advise Americans to avoid travel to military bases in Jordan. The same day Jordan’s Minister of Government Communication and official government spokesperson Mohammad Al Momani announced that relevant authorities issued no evacuation decisions for Aqaba Airport or the seaport, that both facilities operate normally, and that no potential threats registered with competent Jordanian authorities in recent hours.

Kuwaiti Air Defenses Respond to Missiles and Drones

MIDDLE EAST — The U.S. Department of State issued a Worldwide Caution on July 18 advising Americans worldwide, and especially in the Middle East, to exercise increased caution due to heightened tensions.

Reading the Confidence Chip
Each alert carries one chip that tells you its reliability level at a glance:
- Tier 1: Highest confidence. Confirmed by multiple authoritative or official sources.
- Tier 2: Strong but still developing. Backed by credible sources, with verification ongoing.
- Multi-source: Cleared sourcing, consistency, and accuracy checks; corroborated by independent reports.
Every item also clears the same checks before publishing, whichever chip it carries; the box above explains what "cleared" means. Sourcing detail (how many independent reports, whether it is a primary/official source) is shown per-alert in its "Sources" line.
How to Use This Feed
- Scan fast: The title, timestamp, and chips give you everything you need without reading the full alert.
- Trust the chip: Tier 1 and Tier 2 mean confirmed by multiple sources, at different confidence levels. Multi-source means corroborated but not yet at tier confidence. Each alert's "Sources" line spells out the detail.
- Check back: New items appear as they clear verification. The UTC clock shows you exactly how fresh the feed is.
