Kurdistan Region: Two Hadid-110 Drones Strike PM Office, Origin Attributed to Iran
MIDDLE EAST โ Two explosive-laden Hadid-110 drones that the Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Directorate stated were launched from across the Iranian border struck the private office of Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and the residence of the Parastin Agency director in the Pirmam district of Erbil province at 12:28 a.m. local time on August 17.
The Kurdistan Counter-Terrorism Directorate stated the drones targeted the sites and reported no casualties. Barzani described the attacks as a dangerous escalation and an unacceptable threat to the regionโs security and stability.

.Rainfall of up to ten plus inches last week from northwest Indiana to east central Indiana to southeast Indiana has brought widespread flooding to much of central and southern Indiana.
The crest has occurred on the Driftwood River at Edinburgh, and the river level is expected to continue falling for the foreseeable future. The East Fork White River crest at about moderate flood stage of 17 feet is beginning to move past Seymour. The river is expected to fall for the foreseeable future.
Additional rain is possible overnight tonight, followed by decreasing clouds Monday and dry weather.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...East Fork White River at Seymour.
* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 17.0 feet, Flooding becomes more extensive. Although this level is fairly frequent, many local and state roads flood. Seymour gravel pit begins to flood. Livestock and equipment must be relocated to higher ground. High water surrounds river residences near Rockford. CR 760 E south of river gaging station is impassable.

GALAศI COUNTY, ROMANIA โ Two Spanish F-18 fighter aircraft assigned to NATOโs enhanced Air Defense mission at Mihail Kogฤlniceanu Air Base intercepted and destroyed a drone that entered Romanian national airspace from the direction of Moldova in the early hours of August 16.
Romanian Ministry of National Defense surveillance systems detected the aerial target at 04:44 local time approximately 15 miles (24 km) north of Galaศi.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ โ United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) issued Warning 113-26 on August 15 after receiving a verified report that a bulk carrier was struck by an unknown projectile that hit the hull in the Strait of Hormuz.

LATVIA โ On the morning of August 14, a NATO fighter jet operating under the Baltic Air Policing mission from a base in Lithuania intercepted and destroyed a foreign unmanned aerial vehicle that entered Latvian airspace over Balvi Municipality.
The Latvian National Armed Forces stated an airspace threat shortly after 4:00 a.m. local time in the municipalities of Augลกdaugava, Preiฤผi, Rฤzekne, Balvi, and Alลซksne.

Missile Hits Container Ship Vela Nova Off Pakistan. Projectile Strike Kills Crew in Bab el-Mandeb
GULF OF OMAN / BAB EL-MANDEB โ Two commercial vessels were struck on August 11 in separate incidents confirmed by both the Joint Maritime Information Center and United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations.
In the Gulf of Oman, the container ship Vela Nova was hit by a missile fired from a helicopter. The vessel was 71 nautical miles from the Pakistani coast when the strike occurred. The master reported damage to the stern and steering compartment.

NORTH AMERICA โ On August 8 the National Interagency Fire Center said 97 large fires remained under containment efforts across the United States, with 83 new fires and 9 new large fires recorded in the preceding 24 hours, while British Columbia authorities stated a provincial state of emergency after the Bald Range fire forced the evacuation of the District of Summerland and surrounding areas.
The U.S. total of personnel assigned stood at 30,636, including 661 crews, 1,856 engines and 204 helicopters, according to the National Interagency Fire Center National Fire News of August 8. Twenty-six complex incident management teams and one national incident management organization were committed.

GERMANY โ On August 6 the Office of the Federal Prosecutor assumed lead of the investigation into the explosive-laden drone recovered at Leipzig/Halle Airport on the night of August 4-5, classifying the incident as a serious attack on Germanyโs transport and logistics infrastructure.
The office stated there are sufficient factual indications that an explosion was intended to be caused on the airport grounds by means of a drone equipped with professional explosives and a detonator. The act is capable of impairing the external and internal security of the Federal Republic.

Reading the Confidence Chip
Each alert carries one chip that tells you its reliability level at a glance:
- Tier 1: Highest confidence. Confirmed by multiple authoritative or official sources.
- Tier 2: Strong but still developing. Backed by credible sources, with verification ongoing.
- Multi-source: Cleared sourcing, consistency, and accuracy checks; corroborated by independent reports.
Every item also clears the same checks before publishing, whichever chip it carries; the box above explains what "cleared" means. Sourcing detail (how many independent reports, whether it is a primary/official source) is shown per-alert in its "Sources" line.
How to Use This Feed
- Scan fast: The title, timestamp, and chips give you everything you need without reading the full alert.
- Trust the chip: Tier 1 and Tier 2 mean confirmed by multiple sources, at different confidence levels. Multi-source means corroborated but not yet at tier confidence. Each alert's "Sources" line spells out the detail.
