The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. Coastal areas are getting near high tide as well, which will exacerbate impacts.

The thunderstorms are expected to develop near the southern Oregon and southern Idaho boarder this afternoon and move toward the northeast into the early evening hours. Rainfall amounts with these storms are expected to be less than one tenth of an inch in most areas. Expect gusty and erratic winds up to 50 mph in the vicinity of these thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from noon MDT /11 AM PDT/ today to 9 PM MDT /8 PM PDT/ this evening.

.STORM INFORMATION... At 7 PM ChST, the center of Super Typhoon Bavi (09W) was located near latitude 15.1N, longitude 143.3E. This was about 150 miles northwest of Guam. Storm motion was west-northwest, 300 degrees, at 13 mph. Storm intensity was 165 mph.
.SITUATION OVERVIEW... Tropical Storm conditions continue throughout the Marianas, although they should gradually diminish overnight. Rainfall is also diminishing across the islands. This will allow flooded streets to drain overnight and cleanup and recovery to begin Tuesday morning.

NAVAL STATION ROTA, SPAIN (July 6, 2026) - At approximately 11:10 p.m. Central European Time on July 2, a class alpha fire was reported in the southwest area of Naval Station (NAVSTA) Rota, Spain near the base’s golf course. Naval Station Rota Fire and Emergency Services immediately responded to the scene. The fire was reported as contained at 4:17 a.m. on July 3 and a fire watch was established. The fire was officially declared extinguished at approximately 7 a.m. on July 5.
The fire impacted around two acres of land on the base. No injuries were reported and no damage to government property was sustained. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
NAVSTA Rota remains fully mission capable and committed to supporting the fleet, warfighters, and our community.
