Special Operations Command Mission Overview
U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) develops and employs special operations forces for global missions as part of the Joint Force, in concert with interagency partners, allies, and partners. It provides specialized capabilities and rapid response options for combatant commanders worldwide.
SOCOM provides trained and ready special operations forces and conducts specialized missions worldwide in support of combatant commanders, integrating service components to meet joint requirements. The command also oversees readiness, training, and force development for special operations units.
