Explosions were reported in Bahrain and Kuwait that day, with air sirens activated across Bahrain and Kuwait’s army stating it intercepted what it described as hostile missile and drone attacks.

Central Command (CENTCOM) stated it conducted strikes on Iranian military targets including surveillance infrastructure, communication systems, air defense sites, drone storage facilities, and mine-layer capabilities near the Strait of Hormuz.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ — U.S. Central Command forces conducted additional strikes against multiple Iranian military targets on June 27 in response to Iran’s drone attack on the Panama-flagged tanker M/T Kiku.

The tanker was transiting near the strait carrying more than two million barrels of crude oil when struck by a one-way attack drone on June 27 at 8:30 a.m. UTC (12:00 p.m. local time in the Strait of Hormuz region), according to the CENTCOM statement.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ — U.S. Central Command forces struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations and coastal radar sites on June 26 in response to an Iranian one-way attack drone strike on the Singapore-flagged cargo ship M/V Ever Lovely the previous day while the vessel was exiting the Strait of Hormuz along the Omani coast.

The official CENTCOM release detailed the strikes as a response to the ship attack and noted that the action violated the existing ceasefire. The IRGC said that it targeted U.S. positions within the region in response. 

AMERICAS AND ASIA-PACIFIC — Twin earthquakes of magnitude 7.5 and 7.2 struck western Venezuela early on June 25, causing building collapses in Caracas and other areas and prompting authorities to announce a state of emergency.

A magnitude 6.9 earthquake occurred off the northern coast of Japan at approximately the same time, producing strong shaking but no reported damage or injuries.

MIDDLE EAST — U.S. forces struck targets inside Iran for a second consecutive day on Wednesday while air defenses in Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan engaged Iranian missiles and drones in attacks that ran from Tuesday evening into Wednesday morning.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) began launching the latest round of strikes, which it says were carried out in self defense, at 5:15 p.m. ET on Wednesday against Iranian military surveillance capabilities, communication systems, and air defense sites, and attributed the strikes to Iran’s “unwarranted and continued aggression.”

MIDDLE EAST - CENTCOM: U.S. forces “began launching self-defense strikes against Iran at 5 p.m. ET today at the Commander in Chief’s direction, in response to yesterday’s downing of a U.S. Army Apache helicopter."

Iranian news agency Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has reported explosions in Qeshm Island and in Sirik, Iran.

MIDDLE EAST — Iranian forces launched multiple waves of ballistic missiles toward Israeli territory beginning June 7. Israeli air defense systems engaged the missiles while sirens activated across several areas through June 8.

The strikes marked the first direct Iranian missile attack on Israel since the April ceasefire. Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) and Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters channels designated the operation as Operation True Promise 5, describing it as a conditional response to Israeli strikes on Hezbollah targets in Beirut’s Dahieh suburb earlier on June 7.

ISRAEL - The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has reported that Iran has launched missile toward the state of Israel. Defensive systems are currently operating to intercept. Iraq has closed off its airspace and suspended navigation for the Baghdad International Airport

MIDDLE EAST — U.S. Central Command stated on June 7 that American forces shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones after the drones threatened international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

The command provided no further details on the exact timing, precise location of the engagements, interception methods, or any resulting effects on shipping.

MIDDLE EAST — U.S. Central Command forces intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and one-way attack drones launched toward the Strait of Hormuz and Gulf neighbors on June 5.

Iran fired seven ballistic missiles launched toward Kuwait and Bahrain hours after CENTCOM shot down four Iranian one-way attack drones. The drones posed an immediate threat to regional maritime traffic.

MIDDLE EAST — U.S. forces intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones launched toward Kuwait and Bahrain, and conducted strikes on an Iranian military ground control station on Qeshm Island, according to U.S. Central Command.

The intercepts covered two missiles directed at Kuwait and three missiles directed at Bahrain. CENTCOM reported that all missiles failed to reach their intended targets.

GULF OF OMAN — U.S. forces operating under Central Command enforced a naval blockade of Iranian ports by disabling a non-compliant Gambia-flagged bulk carrier attempting to reach an Iranian port and conducted precision strikes against Iranian air defense and drone command facilities following the loss of a U.S. unmanned aircraft.

Regional maritime threat level remains critical according to the Joint Maritime Information Center, with commercial traffic in the Strait of Hormuz significantly reduced and vessels routing through Omani waters amid persistent mining threats and GNSS interference.

STRAIT OF HORMUZ — US forces are conducting military operations north of the Musandam Peninsula while enforcing a blockade of Iranian ports across the Arabian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, Gulf of Oman, and North Arabian Sea.

The Joint Maritime Information Center has assessed the regional threat level as CRITICAL, and no new maritime advisories have been issued since May 29.
