At 1146 PM MDT, Thunderstorms have diminished in intensity over the
Otero Mesa. Radar estimates 2.50 to 3 inches of rain fell in Otero
County, northwest of Dell City. This will result in flooding in
various draws that flow towards Dell City. Retention dams will
prevent water from reaching Dell City, but flooding will impact rural
roads north and northwest of town, especially across the New Mexico
border.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.
