...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers and
locations in Indiana...
White River at Spencer, Hazleton, Newberry, and Elliston.
East Fork White River near Rivervale.
.Heavy to extreme rainfall over east-central, southeast, and west
central Indiana since the middle of last week is currently causing
mostly minor flooding on the White River, and minor flooding on the
East Fork White River at Rivervale in Lawrence County. Moderate
flooding is at Spencer on the White River in Owen County, where the
river crest is currently located.
Rainfall today has amounted up to over three and half inches from
eastern Warren County eastward to Madison County. The heaviest
rainfall fell in the Shadeland area of southwest Tippecanoe County,
slightly lesser amounts north-northwest of Frankfort in Clinton
County and just southwest of Frankton in Madison County. Showers
and thunderstorms are expected to continue through the night, slowly
dropping south with time.
* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...White River at Petersburg.
* WHEN...Until Wednesday, August 26.
* IMPACTS...At 21.0 feet, During May 2008 and March 2011...flood
waters recede from State Road 257 south of Washington when
Petersburg was 21 feet and falling and Shoals slightly below 15
feet and falling. During March 2011...White River was rising very
slowly and Shoals dropped to 14.7 feet and was leveling off.
