The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
North Central Socorro County in central New Mexico...
Southeastern Valencia County in central New Mexico...

* Until 915 PM MDT.

* At 616 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned
area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
La Joya, Bernardo, San Acacia, Veguita, Contreras, Las Nutrias,
Abeytas and Chamizal.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 60 between Mile Markers 166 and 191. Interstate 25 between
Mile Markers 175 and 178.
