...Forecast flooding changed from Minor to Moderate severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas...
Rio Grande River At Eagle Pass affecting Maverick County.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Rio Grande River at Eagle Pass.
* WHEN...From late tonight to early Sunday morning.
* IMPACTS...At 13.0 feet, (4.0 meters), Overbank conditions with
water well into the flood plain threatening livestock and
irrigation pumps.
At 16.0 feet, (4.9 meters), Water covers a small portion of Shelby
Park and the golf course. Minor lowland flooding can cut off and
drown livestock in the river channel. Irrigation pumps and
equipment are damaged in the flood plain. Any activity or
festivities in the flood plain at Eagle Pass are flooded.
At 18.0 feet, (5.5 meters), Moderate flooding. Much of Shelby Park
is flooded. Water floods the lowest sections of the golf course.
Lowland flooding is well into the flood plain at Eagle Pass.
Flooding any activities or equipment in the flood plain.
At 21.0 feet, (6.4 meters), Water reaches Ryan Street above Shelby
Park. River flow is to the edge of the bluff on the left bank at
Eagle Pass. Livestock in the flood plain can be trapped and
drowned. Any equipment in the flood plain will be flooded or
damaged.
At 25.0 feet, (7.6 meters), Major flooding threatens the lowest
homes and businesses in Eagle Pass. Livestock are trapped and
potentially drowned in the flood plain below Del Rio to above
Laredo. Roads and low bridges near the river flood and are
dangerous.

- At 2:00 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 5.0 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 9.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
just after midnight tonight to a crest of 24.1 feet tomorrow
evening. It will then fall below flood stage Saturday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
24.2 feet on 07/24/1938.
