The National Weather Service in Columbia has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
West Central Fairfield County in central South Carolina...
Central Newberry County in central South Carolina...

* Until 145 AM EDT.

* At 1052 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain
have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Newberry, VC Summer Nuclear Station, Whitmire, Blair, Newberry
College, Newberry County Airport, Monticello, Pomaria, US-176 and
SC-34 Crossroads, Enoree Ranger District Office, Maybington Fire
Station, Henderson Island, Newberry County Detention Center and
Bush River Fire Station.

This includes Interstate 26 between mile markers 62 and 79.
