US, Israel Discuss Possible Intervention In Iran Amid Protests/Riots, Tehran

WASHINGTON/TEHRAN - โAs U.S. President Donald Trump is briefed on additional potential strikes on Iran after his threat to respond to Tehran's violent crackdown on protesters and rioters, Iran warns that both U.S. military targets, and Israel will be "legitimate targets" if the United States carries out strikes on the country.
Israel has increased its alert status to "high alert" in response to potential U.s. intervention against Iran by the United States. โ
โUS secretary of state Marco Rubio and Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu have been in the process of discussing possible U.S. interventions in Iran as anti-government protests and riots spring up across the country.
โCommander-in-chief of Iran's national police Sardar Radan said that, "the level of confrontation with the rioters has been elevated."
The internet across Iran has been in near total blackout for the last 60+ hoursโ, making it difficult for those outside the country to see the extent of the crackdown on the protesters and rioters, though some within the country have been able to access internet through Starlink satellites, though it is being reported that the Iranian government is attempting to jam access to Starlink throughout the country.
At least 116 people to date are known to have been killed, many by live ammunition or pellets at close range. At least 37 of of the dead were members of the military or security forces. โ
Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf โsaid that any attack by the United States would be met with retaliation against Israel, adding that U.S. military bases would be "legitimate targets" as well.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei said in a statement, "The US is miscalculating its position on Iran today."โ
