At 640 PM MDT, Thunderstorms producing heavy rain have ended over most of the Aspen Acres Burn Scar, though run-off, flooding and debris flows will continue for at least the next 1 to 2 hours. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Any additional rainfall amounts this evening will be light, generally less than a tenth of an inch. Flash flooding is already occurring, with water rescues and large debris flows reported.

* At 407 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the Sacaton and Hummingbird burn scars. Up to 0.75 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact Willow Creek and Gilita Creek. This includes Willow Creek Road including the Ben Lilly and Willow Creek Campgrounds and any other residences in this area. Bursum Road near the Willow Creek Campground may also be impacted. Middle Fork Trail number 157 and Iron Creek Trail number 172 will be especially dangerous. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

* IMPACTS...Numerous roads remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water. It will take several hours for all the water from these storms to work through local drainage systems in urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 344 PM EDT, local law enforcement reported a number of road closures in Isle of Palms, Mount Pleasant and surrounding areas from ongoing flooding. Between 3 and 5.5 inches of rain have fallen in these areas since around 1 PM. Emergency officials are describing this situation as dangerous and are asking people to stay off the roadways until conditions improve. The risk for additional flooding has diminished, but it will take some time for conditions to improve. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... At 317 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain over the South Fork Burn Scar. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 0.75 to 1.25 inches in 30 minutes. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact Upper Canyon, Brady Canyon, and Perk Canyon as well as the Cedar Creek, Eagle Creek and Rio Ruidoso drainages. Impacts will include but are not limited to all nearby reservoirs, bridges, culverts and roadways. Impacts to areas along the Rio Ruidoso may extend downstream of Ruidoso Downs. The debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding in and around the South Fork Burn Scar.

- Multi-source: Cleared sourcing, consistency, and accuracy checks; corroborated by independent reports.
Every item also clears the same checks before publishing, whichever chip it carries; the box above explains what "cleared" means. Sourcing detail (how many independent reports, whether it is a primary/official source) is shown per-alert in its "Sources" line.
How to Use This Feed
