Naval Medical Center San Diego:

"SAN DIEGO โ€” Capt. Jerry J. Bailey, director of Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD), visited Naval Branch Health Clinics Kearny Mesa and Eastlake, Nov. 6, 2026, to connect with staff, see clinic operations firsthand and recognize personnel for their contributions to patient care.

During the visits, Bailey toured both facilities, met with clinic teams and talked with staff about their work and what they need to continue delivering care to the beneficiaries they serve.

โ€œOur branch health clinics bring Navy Medicine closer to where our beneficiaries live and work, so getting out to see these teams in person matters,โ€ Bailey said. โ€œDelivering the healthcare enterprise our beneficiaries deserve starts right here, with the people who greet our patients, draw their labs, fill their prescriptions and care for them every day.โ€

At Kearny Mesa, Bailey recognized medical assistant Mayra Robles, nurse practitioner Jennifer McDonnell, pharmacist Theresa Nguyen, medical assistant Nadia Salazar, and phlebotomist Jerily Brand.

At Eastlake, Bailey recognized medical support assistant lead Portia Ortegoza; registered nurses Maria Dualos and Sheila Calimbahin; medical support assistants Ana Ruby Taylor and Lilibeth Agustin; lead medical support assistant and customer service representative Virginia Cuevas; and phlebotomist Brittany Dare.

NMCSDโ€™s branch health clinics extend the medical centerโ€™s reach across the region, giving beneficiaries access to primary care, pharmacy, laboratory and other services closer to home.

NMCSD employs more than 5,600 active-duty military personnel, civilians, and contractors in Southern California to deliver exceptional care afloat and ashore."
