U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command:

"FORT HUACHUCA, Ariz. โ€” As the Army continues to modernize its network and strengthen its ability to operate across multiple domains, leaders from the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) are engaging with industry partners to explore emerging technologies, share operational priorities and identify innovative solutions to evolving mission requirements.

NETCOM's Command Chief Warrant Officer (CCWO), along with representatives from the command's G-3/5 directorate, attended Innovation Day at Fort Huachuca on Nov. 3 to examine technologies designed to improve cybersecurity, network integration, operational efficiency and real-time decision-making. The event brought together military leaders, technical experts and industry representatives, providing a forum for collaboration and the exchange of ideas. Beyond evaluating emerging technologies, Innovation Day offered NETCOM an opportunity to communicate its mission, ongoing modernization initiatives and operational challenges directly to industry representatives.

This two-way engagement helps industry better understand the command's requirements and the complexities of operating and defending the Army's global network. It also allows NETCOM leaders to gain insight into emerging capabilities that could address operational gaps, improve efficiencies and support future modernization efforts.

For NETCOM, innovation is not simply about adopting new technology. It is about ensuring capabilities are integrated, resources are strategically aligned and systems work together to deliver operational advantages across the Army's global network.

โ€œInnovation is not about acquiring technology for the sake of technology. It is about identifying capabilities that solve operational challenges, maximizing the resources entrusted to us and ensuring our systems work together to deliver information at the speed of decision,โ€ said Chief Warrant Officer 5 Shawn E. Petermann, NETCOM CCWO. โ€œThrough NETCOMโ€™s global reach, we must continue to modernize how we communicate, collaborate and synchronize operations across the enterprise.โ€

As the command continues to support the Army's transformation efforts, identifying technologies that enable convergence across the cyber domain remains a priority. Synchronizing network capabilities, cybersecurity tools and operational information in real time helps commanders maintain situational awareness, accelerate decision-making and respond more effectively to emerging threats.

Representatives from NETCOM's G-3/5 directorate also attended the event to research technologies and equipment that could support ongoing headquarters modernization initiatives. Their efforts focused on identifying solutions to improve communication, information sharing and command-and-control capabilities, enabling NETCOM to maintain effective coordination and timely decision-making across its geographically dispersed formation.

With Soldiers, Army Civilians and contractors supporting network operations around the world, NETCOM requires reliable, secure and integrated communication capabilities to maintain operational awareness and synchronize activities across multiple time zones and geographic regions.

Modernizing headquarters capabilities is an important part of that mission. Improved collaboration tools, integrated information systems and enhanced communication technologies can help reduce barriers to information sharing, streamline operational processes and ensure leaders have access to timely, accurate information for decision advantage.

Equally important, engagement with industry provides NETCOM an opportunity to explain how its mission is evolving as the Army advances toward a more unified, secure and data-centric network. Sharing modernization priorities, operational requirements and emerging challenges helps industry representatives better understand the capabilities needed to support the Army's global communications enterprise.

This exchange can help inform future technological development while allowing NETCOM to identify existing solutions that may meet operational needs without duplicating capabilities or unnecessarily increasing costs. By maintaining awareness of emerging technologies and fostering open communication with industry, NETCOM can make more informed decisions about modernization investments and better align resources with operational priorities.

The engagement supports the Army's broader transformation objectives by promoting innovation, responsible resource management and the convergence of capabilities across the cyber domain.

As technology evolves and operational demands increase, NETCOM's ability to identify, evaluate and integrate innovative solutions will remain essential to sustaining the Army's global communications enterprise. Through deliberate modernization and continued engagement with industry, NETCOM remains focused on delivering a resilient, integrated network that enables commanders to communicate, make informed decisions and maintain operational advantage across the global formation."
