NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued September 24 at 11:47AM MDT until September 24 at 12:45PM MDT by NWS Midland/Odessa TX

At 1147 AM MDT, the public reported water flowing over roadways
leading to road closures. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen near Carlsbad and upstream in Dark Canyon Draw. Water from
Dark Canyon Draw will continue flowing towards Carlsbad. Although
rainfall has ended, flooding is ongoing.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Carlsbad, Carlsbad North, Avalon, Whites City, Cavern City Air
Terminal, Living Desert State Park, Otis and Lake Avalon.
