NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued September 23 at 12:39AM EDT until September 23 at 5:45AM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC

At 1239 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Between 2.5 and 4 inches of rain have
fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Lake Lure, Chimney Rock Village, Chimney Rock State Park, Bat Cave
and Gerton.

Flood stage is currently 6.22 feet at the Rocky Broad River near Bat
Cave. Water will start to approach campgrounds along the Rocky Broad
River in the Chimney Rock/Hickory Grove areas.
