The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 1030 PM HST.

* At 738 PM HST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain over Kauai. Rain
was falling at a rate of 1 to 2 inches per hour. Substantial rises
have been observed at the Wainiha River and Waialae Stream gages.
Rises on other area rivers and streams can also be expected as
heavy rain continues. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Lihue, Kapaa, Kalaheo, Kekaha, Princeville, Kilauea, North Fork
Wailua Trails, Alakai Swamp Trails, Lawai, Omao, Kokee State Park
and Wailua Homesteads.
