The National Weather Service in Honolulu has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
The island of Kauai in Kauai County

* Until 500 PM HST.

* At 156 PM HST, emergency management reported Kuhio Highway near the
Hanalei River bridge is still closed, along with water over several
other roadways. Stream levels are trending down, but remain
elevated. Additional areas of moderate rain are expected to move
over the area over the next few hours and could result in
additional flooding impacts.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by heavy rain.

SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Lihue, Kapaa, Princeville, Kilauea, North Fork Wailua Trails,
Wailua Homesteads, Hanalei, Wailua, Moloaa, Wainiha, and Anahola.
