NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 25 at 5:07PM MDT until August 25 at 7:45PM MDT by NWS Pueblo CO
At 507 PM MDT, emergency management reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar. Between 0.7 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.1 to 0.5
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already
occurring. Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in
debris flow moving through the North Saint Charles, South Creek,
Squirrel Creek, Middle Creek, and North Creek Drainages. The debris
flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Middle Aspen Acres Burn
Scar.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported 6-12 inches of water and
debris flowing down north creek and north creek cutoff at
501 pm.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the
Middle Aspen Acres Burn Scar.
