NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued August 23 at 2:47PM MDT until August 23 at 4:15PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT

At 247 PM MDT, National Park Service personnel reported flash
flooding occurring in Grand Wash from earlier thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across portions of Capitol Reef National Park. This
includes Grand Wash, Wonderland Canyon, Timpie Canyon, and Capitol
Gorge. Between 0.50 and 1.00 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

SOURCE...National Park Service personnel reported.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks, streams, slot
canyons, and normally dry washes.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Caineville and portions of Capitol Reef National Park, including
Grand Wash, Wonderland Canyon, Timpie Canyon, and Capitol Gorge.
