NWS / NOAA weather: Flood Warning issued August 17 at 11:25PM EDT until August 26 at 4:43PM EDT by NWS Indianapolis IN

...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Indiana...

White River at Elliston down to Hazleton.

.The White River continues in minor to moderate flood down through
Elliston as the crest passes Morgan County points through early
Tuesday. Minor flooding to start at Edwardsport late Monday evening
and at Newberry early Tuesday. The crest will slowly approach
Elliston through Thursday...where moderate flooding is possible.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Petersburg.

* WHEN...From Tuesday evening to Wednesday, August 26.

* IMPACTS...At 21.3 feet, State Road 257 south of Washington began
to flood during May 2008 after local rains of more than an inch on
very wet soils with Petersburg at 21.3 feet and rising and Shoals
at 15.5 feet and rising.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 10:45 PM EDT Monday /9:45 PM CDT Monday/ the stage was
13.5 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late tomorrow evening to a crest of 21.3 feet early Sunday
afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage Wednesday,
August 26.
- Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
