The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Northwestern Otero County in south central New Mexico...

* Until 1030 PM MDT.

* At 639 PM MDT, Earlier thunderstorms which produced heavy rain
around Bent and Nogal Canyon sent significant runoff into Tularosa
Creek. The stream gauge below Bent recently crested at 5.5 feet,
or 713 cfs. This will likely result in flooding downstream, mostly
within the flood plain, but inundating several low water crossings.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, and low
water crossings.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Tularosa Falls...
Tularosa.

Low water crossings are likely to become dangerously inundated,
including at Helms Road above Tularosa, and eventually reaching
Railroad Avenue in Tularosa later this evening.
