NWS / NOAA weather: Flood Warning issued July 23 at 8:00PM CDT until July 23 at 11:00PM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following
counties, Brazoria, Fort Bend and Harris.
* WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is occurring. Areas of slow moving or
standing water expected to continue to gradually recede.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 755 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is
already occurring in the warned area. Between 4 and 6 inches
of rain have fallen.
- Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
expected.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Northwestern Pearland, Sugar Land, Missouri City, Stafford,
First Colony, Fresno, Town West, Astrodome Area, Meadows
Place, Fondren Gardens, Brays Oaks, Fifth Street, Fort Bend
Houston, Westbury, Westwood, Braeburn, Meyerland Area,
Sharpstown, Alief and Willowbend.
