The National Weather Service in Salt Lake City has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
The Cottonwood Burn Scar in Piute County in...
West Central Piute County in central Utah...

* Until 745 PM MDT.

* At 439 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Cottonwood Burn Scar in Piute County. Between
0.25 and 0.6 inches of rain have fallen. The heaviest rainfall has
fallen over the upper portions of City Creek Canyon. Flash
flooding and debris flows are expected to impact City Creek Canyon
downstream to Highway 153, and potentially downstream to US 89 on
the north side of Junction. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will result in debris flow
moving through City Creek Canyon. The debris flow can consist of
rock, mud, vegetation and other loose materials.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding in and around the Cottonwood
Burn Scar in Piute County.
