NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued July 10 at 11:31PM CDT until July 11 at 4:45AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY

At 1131 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
producing heavy rain in the Carbondale area. Between 1 and 3 inches
of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is has begun and will
worsen into the overnight hours.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Carbondale, Marion, Herrin, Murphysboro, Du Quoin, Pinckneyville,
Carterville, Johnston City, De Soto, Crainville, Cambria, Energy,
Elkville, Hurst, Ava, Tamaroa, Pittsburg, Creal Springs, Cedar Lake
Area and Lake Of Egypt Area.
