NWS / NOAA weather: Red Flag Warning issued July 7 at 8:42AM AKDT until July 8 at 12:00AM AKDT by NWS Fairbanks AK

* AFFECTED AREA...Northern Seward Peninsula, Upper Kobuk Valleys
and Lower Koyukuk Valley.

* TIMING...For the Red Flag Warning, until midnight AKDT
tonight. For the Fire Weather Watch, from Wednesday morning
through Wednesday evening.

* THUNDERSTORM COVERAGE INDEX...Scattered.

* WINDS...Northeast 5 to 10 mph. Thunderstorm outflow winds could
reach 25 to 35 mph.

* HUMIDITY...25 to 35 percent.

* TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 70s/low 80s. Lows in the mid 40s.

* IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected due to
scattered thunderstorms. Thunderstorms will come with frequent
lightning and outflow boundaries. Any lightning can cause new
ignitions since the fuels are dry and burnable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is still a question for how far north
scattered thunderstorms will travel Wednesday, potentially as
far north as the North Slope. Stay tuned as we watch how storms
play out Tuesday.
