NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued July 4 at 4:00PM CDT until July 4 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL

At 400 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing rainfall rates up to 3 inches per hour. Up
to 3 inches of rain has occurred from these storms so far near
Elgin. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding.

IMPACT...Rapid-onset flooding of creeks, streams, drainage
ditches, streets, underpasses, low-lying areas, and
other poor drainage areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Chicago, Arlington Heights, Schaumburg, Palatine, Des Plaines,
Mount Prospect, Wheaton, Hoffman Estates, Elmhurst, Lombard, Carol
Stream, Addison, Glendale Heights, Elk Grove Village, Glen Ellyn,
Franklin Park, Barrington, Oak Brook, Rolling Meadows and Roselle.
