NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued July 4 at 1:32AM CDT until July 4 at 6:30AM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA
At 132 AM CDT, local law enforcement in Nevada reported
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. This was
causing unusual street flooding in Nevada in locations that do not
typically experience this level of flooding. This has caused a
vehicle to get stuck in a couple feet of water. Between 2 and 4.5
inches of rain have fallen with some of the highest amounts over
northern Ames. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
to begin shortly.
