NWS / NOAA weather: Flash Flood Warning issued July 3 at 3:55AM CDT until July 3 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Des Moines IA

At 355 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1
and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to
2 inches are possible in the warned area as more storms move through
the area this morning. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

Des Moines, West Des Moines, Ankeny, Urbandale, Johnston, Clive,
Altoona, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Grimes, Windsor Heights,
Carlisle, Bondurant, Saylorville, Mitchellville, Iowa State
Fairgrounds, Iowa Events Center, Principal Park, Drake Stadium And
Knapp Center and Adventureland Amusement Park.
