Note Regarding Chinese Incursions Into Taiwan - There are many attempts to discredit reports by Taiwan saying that Chinese aircraft violated their ADIZ. The attempts state that the ADIZ line goes all the way into China. What they don't say however, is that these aircraft Taiwan reports are not in China, they are purposefully flying around the island itself.

This means that Taiwan is not in fact counting aircraft that are within Chinese territory, they are counting aircraft that violate it's Air Defense Identification Zone close to the island itself. If you check maps of Chinese aircraft locations around Taiwan during the incursions you can see this. These are not accidental incursions.

North Korea Using Russian Made Navigation System Instead Of GPS For Its Ballistic Missile Launches - North Korea is using Russian made navigation systems instead of American made GPS system for its ballistic missiles according to a South China Morning Post news source allegedly close to the Chinese military.

The source told South China Morning Post that North Korea has been using Glonass and has 'benefited from Soviet technology'.

Andrei Chang who is editor-in-chief of the Canadian Kanwa Defence Review said "None of the anti-American countries [such as North Korea] will use GPS because of their worries about possible disruption or interference by the US military".

Chang stated that instead of using the American Global Positioning System, they use the Chinese BeiDou navigation system or Russia's global navigation satellite system which is also called Glonass.

The SCMP source, who wanted to remain anonymous said "Experts from Pyongyang assessed China’s BeiDou system as well as the Russian one and they decided Glonass was more suitable for the country’s geographic location, its high latitude, when launching missile".

"Moreover, it’s an open secret that the North has been benefited from the legacy of the former Soviet Union, which transferred intermediate-range missile technology to Pyongyang after signing the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with the US".

China's BeiDou navigation system however is used by Iran and Pakistan's military according to the source.

"Iranian experts have managed to combine 12 civilian BeiDou signals and this – supported by their own calculations – gets it closer to the military version [used by the PLA] in terms of accuracy".

China Threatens Catastrophic Consequences If It's Confronted - China's leader Xi Jinping stated Monday that confrontation with China would end in 'catastrophic consequences' during a virtual Davos World Economic Forum speech.

Xi stated that the world needs to move away from its 'Cold War mentality' saying "Our world today is far from being tranquil; rhetorics that stoke hatred and prejudice abound".

"Acts of containment, suppression or confrontation arising thereof do all harm, not the least good, to world peace and security. History has proved time and again that confrontation does not solve problems; it only invites catastrophic consequences. Protectionism and unilateralism can protect no one; they ultimately hurt the interests of others as well as one’s own. Even worse are the practices of hegemony and bullying, which run counter to the tide of history" he stated.

"Naturally, countries have divergences and disagreements between them. Yet a zero-sum approach that enlarges one's own gain at the expense of others will not help" Xi stated.

"Acts of single-mindedly building ‘exclusive yards with high walls’ or ‘parallel systems,’ of enthusiastically putting together exclusive small circles or blocs that polarize the world, of overstretching the concept of national security to hold back economic and technological advances of other countries, and of fanning ideological antagonism and politicizing or weaponizing economic, scientific and technological issues, will gravely undercut international efforts to tackle common challenges".

China Says It Has Developed Heat Seeking Hypersonic Missiles - China says they have developed heat seeking hypersonic missiles. Technology that the United States might not have until around 2025.

Heat seeking missiles are capable of locking onto nearly any target, even stealth aircraft and moving targets such as aircraft carriers and vehicles.

The United States Air Force has said that around 90 percent of the aircraft that it has lost over the years were shot down by heat seeking missiles.

Even the F-22 stealth fighter would be vulnerable to heat seeking missiles due to the fact that the material that coats the aircraft heat up during flight leaving a heat signature that can be tracked by heat seeking missiles.

North Korea Claims Third Hypersonic Missile Test - North Korea has claimed that it has carried out a third hypersonic missile test, in spite of the fact that INDOPACOM claimed the previous test carried out was merely a ballistic missile without hypersonic capability.

North Korea claims that it fired a hypersonic missile on Tuesday that made a successful turn before hitting its target in the sea about 621 miles away.

Six countries, including the United States had issued a joint statement condemning last weeks test, calling for North Korea to discontinue its 'destabilizing actions' in the region.

Japan Developing Rail guns To Counter Hypersonic Missiles - Japan's Defense Ministry is set to develop rail guns, or projectiles powered by magnetic forces to counter the hypersonic weapon threat posed by China, North Korea and Russia.

Rail guns are powered using an electric current that is applied to a magnetic field producing projectiles that travel much faster than the projectiles from conventional missile defense systems and can be continuously fired.

A policy maker told Nikkei that Japan is developing rail guns not necessarily to intercept hypersonic missiles, but to deter them from being launched in the first place.

The new system is meant to reinforce Japan's existing missile defense system technology currently in place along with adding long-range missiles that would allow it to 'return volleys from a distance'.

Taiwan Says Chinese Invasion Would Be Very Difficult To Achieve - Taiwan's Defense Ministry put out a threat assessment saying that a full invasion of Taiwan by the Chinese would be very difficult to achieve as China would have problems with landing and supplying troops due to how strongly Taiwan defense ports and airports.

Taiwan's Defense Ministry said that China's transport capacity is currently limited and that it would not be able to land all of its forces at one time. They would be forced to rely on 'non standard' roll-on and roll-off ships that require port facilities. Their transport aircraft would also need airports which are heavily guarded as well.

"However, the nation's military strongly defends ports and airports, and they will not be easy to occupy in a short time. Landing operations will face extremely high risks" the report stated.

The report also stated that China's landing forces would need to be resupplied with food, weapons and medicine across the Taiwan Strait.

"The nation's military has the advantage of the Taiwan Strait being a natural moat and can use joint intercept operations, cutting off the Communist military's supplies, severely reducing the combat effectiveness and endurance of the landing forces".

China would also need to keep some reserve personnel to keep foreign military forces from coming to Taiwan's aid as well as keep an eye on other areas on China's border such as their shared border with India and the South China Sea.

"U.S. and Japanese military bases are close to Taiwan, and any Chinese Communist attack would necessarily be closely monitored, plus it would need to reserve forces to prevent foreign military intervention. It is difficult to concentrate all its efforts on fighting with Taiwan" the report stated.

Taiwan And India Strike Back At China With Cyberattacks Of Their Own - China, who has long been the world's top cyberattack country responsible for a whopping 41.4% of the world's cyberattacks has admitted that both Taiwan and India are striking back with cyberattacks of their own.

These new dynamics have struck fear into China. In fact so much so that their mouthpiece Global Times has openly admitted that both India and China have become a threat to China.

The Global Times stated that an advanced Taiwanese persistent threat (APT) organization named GreenSpot has been targeting Beijing and the Fujian Province with cyberattacks.

China's security company says that the Taiwan company called ThreatBook targets Chinese government agencies and aerospace and scientific military research institutes stealing high valued data and classified intel.

GreenSpot has carried out large-scale phishing attacks on Chinese universities stealing not just intelligence but also releasing Trojan Horse viruses into Chinese systems.

India is also giving China a headache and giving China a difficult time. A Delhi based hacker team has been carrying out cyberattacks on Chinese government agencies and defense departments in both China as well as Pakistan. China says that this hacker group may become the largest cyberattack team in South Asia.

The CEO of Antiy Labs, China's top cybersecurity company stated "In 2021, the group began targeted attacks on Chinese institutions for intelligence theft".

The hackers set up phishing websites, attacked mobile devices with malicious applications and embedded Trojans written using Python to steal documents, passwords from browser caches and information about the hacked systems.

"Chinese state run media said that Sullivan's 'boast' is not credible because the United States 'simply cannot build a deterrent to prevent' China from 'carrying out reunification by force" and that the United States does not have the 'true will to defend Taiwan at all costs'.

The Chinese state run media article also pointed out that the United States is mainly just helping Taiwan build up its self defense capabilities through weapon sales but that the weapons 'are generally destined to be destroyed by the People's Liberation Army' as soon as the 'reunification force' makes its move to invade the island.

The article then went on to say that "It is credible that the PLA will heavily attack US troops who come to Taiwan's rescue" and said that the PLA capabilities are "increasingly overwhelming the deterrence that U.S. troops may have".

"But if there is going to be a different perspective on security, then the first indication of that is likely to be Japan permitting the United States to deploy more and better weapons systems with a far more powerful offensive capability on their bases here in Japan".

US Builds New Radar That Detects Ballistic And Hypersonic Missiles In The Indo-Pacific - The Missile Defense AGency (MDA) has announced that it has built a new radar that detects both ballistic and hypersonic missiles in the Indo-Pacific region called LRDR, or Long Range Discrimination Radar.

The Long Range Discrimination Radar, which is yet to be tested has been deployed in Alaska and has a 'wide field of view' that can detect enemy threats from the entire Indo-Pacific region.

China Issues Warning In Response To US Decision To Boycott 2022 Winter Olympics - China has issued a warning in response to the United States decision to boycott the 2022 Winter Olympics, saying that it would respond with 'resolute countermeasures'.

The United States confirmed on Tuesday that there would be a diplomatic boycott of the 2022 Winter Olympics and that no officials would be attending due to concerns of 'mass human rights abuses' against the Uyghurs in Kinjiang.

The boycott only prevents any government officials from attending the Olympic games but American athletes are still allowed to attend.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian said that the boycott may jeopardize diplomatic progress between the two countries and increase tensions. He also said that China would take 'resolute countermeasures' in response to the decision.

Mr. Zhao accused the Biden administration of 'political manipulation' saying "US politicians keep hyping a ‘diplomatic boycott’ without even being invited to the Games,” he said during his regular press conference on Monday. “This wishful thinking and pure grandstanding is aimed at political manipulation".

"It is a grave travesty of the spirit of the Olympic Charter, a blatant political provocation and a serious affront to the 1.4 billion Chinese people" Mr. Zhao stated.

"It will only make the Chinese people and the world see clearly US politicians’ anti-China nature and hypocrisy. No one would care whether these people come or not, and it has no impact whatsoever on the Olympics to be successfully held by Beijing".

M16: China Has Become Single Greatest Focus For Intelligence Service - M16 has put out a statement saying that China has become the intelligence agencies single greatest focus and accused China of large scale espionage operations against the United Kingdom.

British diplomat Richard Moore said that the Chinese communist party is backed by an increasingly powerful military and wants to regain control of Taiwan by force if necessary and is a 'serious challenge to global stability and peace'.

Moore accused China of "large-scale espionage operations against the UK and our allies" and said countries across the world should be 'clear eyed' when dealing with the Chinese Communist Party because of the potential to fall into a debt trap, or have data and information from their population exploited by the CCP.

Moore also covered threats from Putin and said that Russia undermining stability in the Western Balkans is 'on an upward trend', as well as covering threats to the West from al-Queda and Islamic State in Afghanistan that will 'likely increase' now that US-led forces are no longer in the region saying that countering it will be 'an extremely difficult task'.

US Military To Upgrade And Expand Military Facilities In Guam And Australia - The US Defense Department says that they will be reinforcing and expanding deployments and bases in the Indo-Pacific to deal with Russian and Chinese threats while maintaining enough forces in the middle east to deal with Iran and Jihadist groups in that region.

The Defense Department will be expanding and upgrading military facilities in both Guam and Australia, highlighting threats by China in the Indo-Pacific as the top defense priority according to officials.

Top Pentagon official Mara Karlin told NDTV reporters, "directs additional cooperation with allies and partners across the region to advance initiatives that contribute to regional stability and deter potential military aggression from China and threats from North Korea".

"strengthens the combat-credible deterrent against Russian aggression in Europe and enables NATO forces to operate more effectively" she added.

Regarding the Middle East Karlin said, "We have global responsibilities and must ensure the readiness and modernization of our forces. These considerations require us to make continuous changes to our Middle East posture, but we always have the capability to rapidly deploy forces to the region based on the threat environment".

"In Australia, you'll see new rotational fighter and bomber aircraft deployments, you'll see ground forces training and increased logistics cooperation".

Karlin added that Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands and in Australia will see airport upgrades and fuel and munitions storage facilities.

When asked about an increase in US military presence in the Indo-Pacific region, Karlin stated "We're moving the needle a bit. And what I'd like to think is, over the coming years, you will see that needle move more".

Taiwan Says China Is Trying To Wear Their Military Out But Is Capable Of Responding Still - Taiwan says that China is attempting to wear the Taiwanese out by repeatedly sending forces near the island, as well as continuously breaching Taiwan's ADIZ, but that they can still respond to threats.

Every time China sends military aircraft into Taiwan's Air Defense Identification Zone, or ADIZ Taiwan has to scramble fighter jets to intercept the threat and deploy air defense missile systems to track the Chinese aircraft.

Carrying out these tasks for almost daily incursions on Taiwan's ADIZ takes a large physical and financial toll on the Taiwanese military due to the manpower and costs of carrying out the tasks necessary to track and monitor the aircraft.

It is an obvious tactic by the Chinese military to wear down the Taiwanese military by sending aircraft into their air defense identification zone on a daily basis to weakn their response times for a future invasion on the island.

Russian And China Fly Nuclear Bombers Near Japan & South Korea - Russia and China flew nuclear capable strategic bombers together near Japan and South Korea on Friday in a joint patrol causing South Korea to quickly scramble their fighter jets.

China announced the joint flight Friday which consisted of 2 Russian Tu-95MC nuclear capable bombers and 2 Chinese H-6K nuclear capable bombers. The Chinese Ministry of Defense said that the joint patrol flew in 'related airspace' in the Sea of Japan, as well as the East China Sea.

That same day 2 Russian Tu-95 nuclear capable bombers patrolled the Bearing and Chukchi Sea west of Alaska. The Chinese Ministry of Defense stated that the patrol "strictly abided by the relevant provisions of international law and did not enter the airspace of other countries".

However, while no international laws were violated, the aircraft did cross into the Northeastern part of the North Korean Air Defense Identification Zone (ADIZ).

Japan was also alarmed by the patrols. Japanese Foreign Minister Yoshimasa Hayashi filed a complaint with both Russia and China over the matter and stated, "We informed Russia and China via diplomatic channels about our concerns about similar actions from the viewpoint of the regional security".

China's state run media reported on the patrols and justified them by saying that it was to safeguard strategic stability against provocative actions by the West.

China's Hypersonic Test Last Summer Ejected An Unknown Payload - A new report by the Financial Times has come out that China's hypersonic glide vehicle test on July 27th ejected an unknown payload over the South China Sea, "as it approached its target traveling at least five times the speed of sound".

US Space Force General Says Chinese And Russians More Advanced Than US On Hypersonic Missiles - US Space Force General David Thompson spoke at a security forum and said that the United States is not as advanced as the Chinese or Russians when it comes to Hypersonic missiles.

Thompson stated, "We are not as advanced as the Chinese or the Russians in terms of hypersonic programs. We have catching up to do very quickly, the Chinese have an incredible hypersonic program. It's a very concerning development ... it greatly complicates the strategic warning problem."

An report by the US congress had stated that Russia and China have "a number of hypersonic weapons programs" and have "likely fielded operational hypersonic glide vehicles - potentially armed with nuclear warheads".

Thursday, Russia test fired a Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile from the Gorshkov frigate. The report by the US congress said, "China has also demonstrated a growing interest in Russian advances in hypersonic weapons technology" and that "Chinese papers on hypersonic weapons include references to Russian weapons programs".

Two hypersonic missile tests were carried out by China in August, one missile circled the globe at such a low altitude that US radars were entirely unable to detect it as it sped over 5 times the speed of sound.

Australia Will Join U.S. And Allies To Defend Taiwan If Attacked By China - Australian Defense Minister, Peter Dutton said that Australia would join the United States and its allies to defend Taiwan if it was attacked by China.

Dutton said that it would be 'inconceivable' for Australia not to join the United States if Washington took action to defend the island of Taiwan during an invasion by China.

Dutton told The Australian newspaper during an interview that "It would be inconceivable that we wouldn’t support the US in an action if the US chose to take that action".

"And, again, I think we should be very frank and honest about that, look at all of the facts and circumstances without pre-committing, and maybe there are circumstances where we wouldn’t take up that option, [but] I can’t conceive of those circumstances".

Blinken: U.S. And Allies Will Take Action If China Invades Taiwan - U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday that if China were to use force against Taiwan, the United States and its allies would be forced to 'take action' against China.

On Wednesday Blinken stated, "There are many countries both in the region and beyond that would see any unilateral action to use force to disrupt the status quo as a significant threat to peace and security, and they too, would take action in the event that happened".

"We stand strongly against anyone taking unilateral action to disrupt the status quo by force, and we have commitments, long-standing commitments under the Taiwan Relations Act to make sure that Taiwan has the ability to defend itself", Blinken stated.

"Our role is to make sure that it has the means to defend itself because if it does, that is the best deterrent against any very, very, very unfortunate action that that might be contemplated".

China Launches Weapon That Can Take Out Satellites Under Guise Of Cleaning 'Space Debris' - A satellite has been launched by China that is supposed to be used for cleaning space debris, but has the capability to take out American satellites.

The Shijian-21 robotic satellite that was sent into space on Sunday on top of a rocket booster from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center is said to be "tasked with demonstrating technologies to alleviate and neutralize space debris" by the state run China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp.

The Shijian-21 satellite has a robotic arm that is not only capable of pulling in debris, but also capable of pulling in and destroying other satellites.

Air Force General James Dickinson from the U.S. Space Command said, "One notable object is the Shijian-17, a Chinese satellite with a robotic arm. Space-based robotic arm technology could be used in a future system for grappling other satellites".

The Shijian-21 is able to maneuver close to orbiting satellites, grapple onto them and then crush them, rendering them inoperable.

China Successfully Tests Second Nuclear Capable Hypersonic Orbital Vehicle - China has carried out a second successful test of a hypersonic Orbital vehicle that is believed to be a nuclear capable hypersonic missile.

The test, which is believed to have been carried out on August 13th, earlier this year involves a hypersonic glide vehicle similar to the first test that was carried out in July, but was only first reported to the public early this week.

China has only admitted to one of the two tests, saying that it had launched a civilian spacecraft, but analysts have stated that a nuclear warhead can be fitted onto the vehicle which could then evade all known missile defense systems in the world.

Government scientists are still trying to figure out what the capabilities of this new vehicle are, and one source who spoke to the Financial Times stated that it seems to 'defy the laws of physics' and is nothing like anything the United States currently has.

The White House has refused to comment on the tests, and the US Department of Defense has chosen neither to confirm nor deny that any hypersonic weapon tests were in fact carried out.

China Tested Nuclear Capable Hypersonic Missile In August- US intelligence was alarmed and surprised when China tested a nuclear capable hypersonic missile in August.

The hypersonic glide vehicle flew through low orbit space at five times the speed of sound around the globe before finally flying toward a designated target. Included in the fleet that entered the ADIZ were four J-16 fighter jets, one Y-8 electric warfare aircraft, one Y-8 electronic signals intelligence aircraft and one Y-8 anti submarine warfare aircraft.

Taiwan's air force responded to the incursion as they usually do by scrambling jets to monitor the situation and deploying warnings to the intruders via radio, as well as deploying air defenses.

The planes were spotted to the southwest between the main island of Taiwan and the Taiwanese controlled Dongsha Islands. So far this month the Chinese have only sent warplanes into Taiwan's airspace 3 times, a lull that looks to be possibly ending as China again becomes more aggressive in its incursions into Taiwan's airspace.
