Helicopter Raid in Northern Syria Targets ISIS Official - Central Command: "TAMPA, Fla. – U.S. Central Command forces successfully conducted a helicopter raid in northern Syria, on Sept. 23, 2023".

USSCOCOM Awards Contract To Deploy AI Tool To Detect Disinformation Threats - Accrete states that Argus is capable of countering misinformation, detecting insider threats, supply chain influence, anti-money laundering, competitive intelligence, and background checking.
NEW YORK - After U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) awarded Accrete with a five-year multi-million dollar Other Transaction Production (OT-P) software licensing contract for a duel-use open-source anomaly/threat detection software called Argus in 2021, the company has now been awarded a new contract to deploy the AI detection software to detect "disinformation threats" on social media, and other online platforms.
According to Accrete, Argus is a "real-time" and "continuously learning" AI threat detection software with the ability to "learn from sparse data" and configurable to be used for social media intelligence, reverse engineering, and logistics disruption for both governmental uses, as well as commercial. US Carries Out Airstrike In Cali Helle, Somalia - US Africa Command: At the request of the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command conducted a collective self-defense airstrike in a remote area near Cali Heele, approximately 244 kilometers North East of Mogadishu, Somalia against al-Shabaab terrorists on August 15.
The airstrike was in support of Somali National Army forces who were engaged by the terrorist organization.

US Military May Put "Armed Personnel" On Commercial Ships In Strait Of Hormuz In Response To Iranian Seizures - CENTCOM: “U.S. Central Command is committed to defending freedom of navigation within our area of responsibility which includes some of the most important waterways in the world".
A report by AP news citing "American officials" said that the sources did not reveal much regarding the details of the plan, but the report did say placing soldiers on commercial ships in the region could aid in deterring Iran from continuing to seize ships in international waters, and may stop escalations from increasing further.
American forces have been building up in the region as U.S. Central Command reported that Iin the past two years Iran has attacked, seized, or attempted seizure of nearly 20 internationally flagged merchant vessels in the CENTCOM area of operations.
“These additional forces provide unique capabilities, which alongside our partners nations in the region, further safeguard the free flow of international commerce and uphold the rules based international order, and deter Iranian destabilizing activities in the region," he added. Read Full Report

Central Command: Manama, Bahrain – A multinational naval coalition that monitors and patrols key waterways in the Middle East completed a naval exercise over the Arabian Gulf, on July 26, with representatives from Bahrain, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The 11-nation coalition, International Maritime Security Construct (IMSC), conducted exercise Sentinel Shield aboard a U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon aircraft that patrolled waters near the Strait of Hormuz.
As part of a pre-announced Department of Defense deployment, a squadron of U.S. Air Force F-35 Lightning IIs has arrived in the U.S. Central Command Area of Responsibility.
While deployed in support of Air Forces Central missions, the 421st Expeditionary Fighter Squadron from Hill AFB, Utah will help defend interests, promote regional security and safeguard freedom of navigation in the region.

SOMALIA - USAFRICOM has released a statement that said the U.S. Africa Command carried out a “collective self-defense” airstrike in a remote area near Hareeri Kalle, located about 15 minutes south of Galcad, Somalia against al-Shabaab terrorists in support of the Somalian National Army.
The statement said that the Somalian military was engaged by the terrorist organization when U.S. Africa Command carried out the airstrike on al-Shabaab militants.
According to an assessment by AFRICOM and the Somali National Army, the U.S. airstrike killed 5 al-Shabaab terrorists. The statement also said that “no civilians were injured or killed” in the airstrike.

US Africa Command Statement: At the request of the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Africa Command conducted three collective self-defense airstrikes overnight in a remote area near Afmadow, approximately 105 kilometers north of Kismayo, against al-Shabaab terrorists.
The airstrike was in support of Somali National Army forces who were engaged by the terrorist organization.
Working with the Somali National Army, U.S. Africa Command’s initial assessment is that the U.S. airstrike killed 10 al-Shabaab terrorists and that no civilians were injured or killed.

US Central Command: TAMPA, Fla. – On July 7, U.S. Central Command conducted a strike in Syria that resulted in the death of Usamah al-Muhajir, an ISIS leader in eastern Syria.
“We have made it clear that we remain committed to the defeat of ISIS throughout the region,” said Gen. Michael “Erik” Kurilla, commander of U.S. Central Command. “ISIS remains a threat, not only to the region but well beyond.”
There are no indications that any civilians were killed in this strike, and the coalition is assessing reports of a civilian injury.

Coast Guard: BOSTON – The U.S. Coast Guard, U.S. Navy, Canadian Coast Guard, and OceanGate Expeditions have established a unified command to continue its response to the 21-foot submersible research vessel, Titan, from the Research Vessel Polar Prince that went missing Sunday evening.
As of Tuesday morning, a total of 10,000 square miles have been searched in favorable weather conditions with an increase in visibility from the previous day.
The Bahamian research vessel, Deep Energy, arrived on the scene around 7 a.m. EDT and began remotely operated vehicle (ROV) operations. A C-130 crew from the Air National Guard 106th also arrived on the scene to continue searching around 4 p.m. EDT.
The following assets are en route: Canadian CGS John Cabot; Canadian CGS Ann Harvey; Canadian CGS Terry Fox; Canadian CGS Atlantic Merlin (ROV); Motor Vessel Horizon Arctic; Commercial Vessel Skandi Vinland (ROV); French Research Vessel L’Atalante (ROV); His Majesty's Canadian Ship Glace Bay (mobile decompression chamber and medical personnel).

Two Palestinians Killed, 29 Wounded During IDF Retaliatory Attack On Gunmen In Jenin - JENIN - Two Palestinians were killed and 29 were wounded, 6 seriously, during an IDF retaliatory attack on gunmen in Jenin located in the West Bank. The attack happened as the IDF attempted to carry out a raid in order to make arrests. Multiple Israeli soldiers were also wounded in the fighting according to Israeli media. The Israel Defense Forces released a statement that said, “During the activity, there was a massive exchange of fire with armed men, and many charges were thrown at the forces who responded by firing. Vulnerabilities have been detected. During the departure of the troops, a military vehicle was hit by a bomb and damaged. The exchange of fire continues”.
Another update from the IDF said, “Combat helicopters fired in the area of the city of Jenin after identifying armed men in the area. Earlier in the morning, soldiers of the IOS, the Special Forces, and a paratrooper patrol operated to arrest two wanted persons in the city of Jenin”.
A third update said, “IDF forces continue to operate in the city of Jenin. Exchanges of fire are taking place there, more details below”.

A translated statement by the Syrian state news agency SANA said, "Our air defenses are confronting hostile targets in the sky around Damascus”.
An update said, "Military source: At about 01:05 in the morning today, the Israeli enemy carried out an air attack from the direction of the occupied Syrian Golan, targeting some points southwest of Damascus".

Syrian state media SANA cited local sources as saying that "American occupation planes carried out a massive airdrop operation today, with the support of the militants of the “Qasd” militia associated with it, in the village of Salham, southeast of Al-Shadadi, in the southern countryside of Hasakah, along the Syrian-Iraqi border".
