MOSCOW - During a parade for Russian Naval forces in St. Petersburg, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that their hypersonic missiles, capable of being fashioned with a nuclear warhead 'can locate and inflict inevitable strike' on their enemies.

Putin stated, "Russia, in the shortest possible time, took its rightful place among the leading maritime powers, went through a colossal path of development from a modest Petrovsky boat to powerful ships of the ocean zone and nuclear-powered missile submarines, acquired effective long-range and short-range naval aviation, reliable coastal defense systems and the latest hypersonic high-precision weapons systems that still have no analogs in the world, which we are constantly and successfully improving".

"Today, the Russian Navy has everything it needs to guarantee the protection of our native country and our national interests. We are able to detect any underwater, surface, air enemy and inflict an inevitable strike on him, if necessary", he continued.

Putin bragged that their hypersonic missiles "have no analogs". They are capable of hitting Mach 7, or more than 5,370 miles an hour, seven times the speed of sound.

Russia intends to increase the speed of their 3M22 Zircon missile to reach over Mach 9, which would exceed 6,905 miles an hour and can be maneuvered in flight to avoid being intercepted by enemy missiles.
