UK Warships Deploy To Black Sea In Solidarity With Ukraine
The United Kingdom is deploying warships to the Black Sea to show solidarity and convey their support to the Ukraine amid increasing tensions between the Ukraine and Russia and a growing buildup of Russian troops, artillery and tanks on the Ukrainian border.
A type 45 destroyer equipped with anti-aircraft missiles and a type 23 anti-submarine frigate will be leaving the Mediterranean Sea and be deployed through the Bosphorus and into the Black Sea in the month of May.
A UK ministry spokesperson stated "The UK and our international allies are unwavering in our support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity."
This news just days after US President Joe Biden sent two warships out to the Black Sea, only to give them an order to turn back from their deployment after Russia threatened the United States, telling them to stay well away from Crimea "For their own good".
