Iran Building Underground Nuclear Facility Near Natanz - According to both U.S. and Israeli intelligence, Iran is building a vast underground nuclear facility underneath a mountain located south of the Natanz nuclear complex, a report by the New York Times stated on Friday.

Satellites used by the intelligence agencies have captured the progress of the underground facility, which is being monitored by Israel and the United States. It is also being built to withstand cyberattacks.

The report also said that the construction of the new facility is a response to an alleged joint operation by the United States and Israel that targeted the power systems at the Natanz uranium enrichment facility.

Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz gave a statement to the media on March 30th, 2022, and said that Iran is producing around 1,000 advanced IR6 centrifuges at the facility. Iran Prepares To Carry Out Test Launch Of Solid-Fuel Satellite Rocket - A Spokesperson for the Iranian Defense Ministry stated on Wednesday that Iran is preparing to test-launch a Zuljanah solid-fuel satellite carrier rocket just days after satellite photos were revealed showing possible preparations for a launch at Imam Khomeini.

Seyed Ahmad Hosseini, who is the spokesman for the ministry spoke to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) and said that three test launches were planned, with one test launch having been carried out last year which they say was 'successful' and two more planned in the future.

Hosseini said that the Zuljanah three-stage rocket is capable of using both solid and liquid fuel and is able to carry up to around 485 pounds (220kg) and reach an altitude of about 310 miles (500km).

Days before the announcement, images posted from Maxar Technologies showed showing the Imam Khomeini Spaceport in the Semnan province, in Iran showed a rocket sitting on a transporter that looked to be readying to lift onto a launch tower by a crane, and another image showed the rocket on the launch tower.

Recently, the spaceport has been used in five failed attempts to launch a satellite into orbit. If Iran is able to get a satellite into orbit, it would "improve its ability to shoot ballistic missiles" according to Israel National News.

US & South Korea & Japan Preparing Contingencies For North's 7th Nuclear Test - The United States, South Korea and Japan are working together closely in order to prepare 'for all contingencies' ahead of expected seventh nuclear test by North Korea a diplomatic envoy stated in South Korea.

The diplomatic envoy consisted of US Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim, South Korea’s special representative for Korean Peninsula peace and security affairs, Kim Gunn and Takehiro Funakoshi, director general of the Japanese Foreign Ministry’s Asian and Oceanian Affairs Bureau.

"The US assesses that the DPRK is preparing its Punggye-ri test site for what would be its seventh nuclear test. This assessment is consistent with the DPRK’s own recent public statements" US Special Representative for North Korea Sung Kim stated on Friday.

"We are preparing for all contingencies in close coordination with our Japanese and ROK allies" the envoy said. Kim said "We do remain committed to seeking dialogue with the DPRK and continue to hope that the DPRK will respond positively to our offers to meet without preconditions".

"North Korea’s relentless pursuit of nuclear weapons will only end up strengthening our deterrence. This will ultimately run counter to Pyongyang’s own interest. Simply put, the course that Pyongyang is currently embarking on has only one inevitable destination — reduced security for North Korea itself".

US Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman had said that any nuclear test would be met with a "swift and forceful response".

China's envoy to the United Nations said on Thursday that Beijing does not want to see another nuclear test, according to Reuters. North Korea hasn't carried out a nuclear test in five years. Washington has put out a warning saying that a nuclear test by North Korea could happen at "any time".

Man Shot And Killed Outside New Boston Space Force Station - A man was shot and killed in what officials have called a "homicide" outside of a Space Force station on Friday in New Hampshire. The shooting involved a police officer and a "contracted security officer".

The shooting happened at about 11:30 p.m, when Michael Foley from Massachusetts was shot and killed on a road called Galaxy Way that leads to the Space Force Station according to a press release given by the office of the New Hampshire Attorney General.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General's office said that a police officer and a "contracted security officer" were involved in the man's death.

The man was shot once, with a "single gunshot wound" and the "manner of death is by homicide," according a release by the New Hampshire Deputy Chief Medical Examiner Dr. Mitchell Weinberg, although it's unclear who fired the lethal round. '

Stephen Brady, who is a spokesperson for Peterson-Schriever Garrison who oversees the New Boston Space Force Station spoke to Military.com and said the shooting "involved a civilian not affiliated with the installation".

Brady had stated in an email that "Base security was never compromised, the vital Space Force satellite command and control mission continued without interruption, and there is no known threat to the community".

U.S. Successfully Tests Hypersonic ARRW Weapon - The United States Air Force reported on Monday that it had successfully tested an Air-Launched Hypersonic Rapid Response Weapon (ARRW), which reached speeds up to five times the speed of sound.

The test was carried out by the Air Force on Saturday off the coast of Southern California which involved a B-52 bomber launching the ARRW. The Air Force statement said, "Following separation from the aircraft, the ARRW's booster ignited and burned for expected duration, achieving hypersonic speeds five times greater than the speed of sound".

The U.S. also successfully carried out a hypersonic test in the middle of March. Hypersonic weapons are very difficult to both track and intercept due to their high speeds and maneuverability.

Brigadier General Heath Collins stated, "This was a major accomplishment by the ARRW team, for the weapon enterprise, and our Air Force".

South Korea Confirms North Korea's Launch Of Ballistic Missile - The South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff has confirmed North Korea's launch of a ballistic missile that was launched from Sunan, Pyongyang at 12:03 pm on May 4th and landed into the East Sea.

The Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the missile had a flight range of 470 kilometers (292 miles) and an altitude of 780 kilometers (484 miles) with a speed of Mach 11.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency says that some South Korean and U.S. intelligence agencies are currently analyzing the specifications in detail.

Yonhap says that some experts believe North Korea might have reduced the range of the Hwasong-17 Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) that had failed in a March test, in order to retest the missile.

Joint Chiefs of Staff said that the successive ballistic missile launches by North Korea pose "a grave threat to the peace and stability of the Korean Peninsula as well as the international community and is a clear violation of 'UN Security Council resolutions".

The Joint Chiefs of Staff stated, "Our military is maintaining a full readiness posture while tracking and monitoring related trends in preparation for additional launches".

It was also reported that the United States Cobra Ball (RC-135S) reconnaissance aircraft was caught on sortie over the Korean Peninsula while the North Korean missile was being launched.

The Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters during his visit to Rome that "North Korea’s series of actions that threatens the peace, safety and stability of the international community are impermissible".

Kishida also said that he'll be discussing the launch when he meets with Italian Prime Minister Mario Draghi later on Wednesday. "Naturally, we will exchange views on the regional situation in the Indo-Pacific and East Asia, and I will thoroughly explain the reality of the region including the North Korean missile launch today, to gain understanding about the pressing situation in the East Asia" he stated.

Russia Test-Fires: RS-28 Sarmat (Satan II) ICBM - Russia has test-fired the RS-28 Sarmat (SATAN II) intercontinental ballistic missile, a liquid-fueled MIRV-equipped ICBM capable of carrying 10 to 15 18-25 megaton nuclear warheads that can each target a different location within the United States and is believed to have the ability to evade missile defense systems.

Russia has test-fired the RS-28 Sarmat (SATAN II) intercontinental ballistic missile, a liquid-fueled MIRV-equipped ICBM capable of carrying 10 to 15 18-25 megaton nuclear warheads that can each target a different location within the United States and is believed to have the ability to evade missile defense systems.

A report by the EurAsian times stated, "Individual warheads would strike distinct targets within a very limited ballistic ‘footprint,’ or many warheads from the same missile would strike the same target, increasing the likelihood of destroying that target completely".

The missile can be shot into orbit and each of the 10 to 15 hypersonic glide missiles that the missile releases can each target separate locations. Being hypersonic, they would be able to avoid detection by modern missile defense systems.

Each missile released by the RS-28 is said to have enough nuclear payload to completely wipe out an area the size of Texas for France, thus making the Satan II potentially the most powerful ICBM in the world. More About The Satan II

US Cancels Testing Of LGM-30G Minuteman III Missile - The United States has canceled testing the Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) that it originally had intended only to delay testing amid tensions with Russia.

According to Reuters, the Pentagon first announced that it intended to delay testing of the LGM-30G ICBM on March 2nd after Russia had announced that it had put its nuclear forces on high alert. Washington had stated that the United States and Russia should both "bear in mind the risk of miscalculation and take steps to reduce those risks".

Although Washington had originally decided to delay the Minuteman III ICBM test "a little bit" rather than completely cancel the test, the eventual cancellation was said to be for the same reasons it was originally delayed.

Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek said, "The Air Force is confident in the readiness of the strategic forces of the United States".

Jeffrey Lewis, who is a missile researcher at the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) stated, "There's a value to doing the tests but I don't think missing one test in the grand scheme of things is a really big deal" and said that the Minuteman III missile is an extremely reliable missile.

North Korea Fires Suspected ICBM Toward Sea Off East Coast - South Korea says that North Korea has tested what is suspected to be an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) according to the Yonhap South Korean news agency. The missile test would be the 11th missile test so far this year, and the first ICBM launched by the country since 2017, when it launched the Hwasong-15 missile.

The missile is said to have reached an altitude of over 6,000 kilometers, or about 3,728 miles which is a higher altitude than any other previous launches by North Korea.

There had been reports yesterday that North Korea was planning to test its newest missile, the Hwasong 17 which is reportedly North Korea's largest ICBM and can reach any U.S. city.

Japan's Defense Ministry said that the missile flew for around 71 minutes over a distance of around 1,100 kilometers, or about 684 miles.

On March 11th, Doctor Jeffrey Lewis, who is a professor at the Middlebury Institute had stated that North Korea may have been testing a 'post boost vehicle' (aka 'bus') used to deliver 'multiple nuclear warheads from a big ICBM like the Hwasong-17.

Russia: We Will Treat Any Hacking Of Our Satellites As Justification For War - The head of Russia's space agency has stated that Russia will be treating any hacking of its satellites as justification for war, after an alleged hack of their systems was claimed by a 'non-state' hacker group on Tuesday according to media reports.

Head of the Russian State Space Corporation "Roscosmos" Dmiry Rogozin denied media reports however that Russian satellite control centers had been hacked during Russia's campaign against Ukraine while at the same time warned against any attempt to hack their systems saying that it would be treated as justification for war.

Interfax quoted Rogozin saying "Off-lining the satellites of any country is actually a casus belli, a cause for war" after the hacker group Network Battalion 65 had claimed responsibility for hacking Russia's satellite systems.

The claim by Network Battalion 65 came out on March 1st, with a Twitter post saying "we won't stop until you stop" and a message saying "The Russian Space Agency sure does love their satellite imaging. Better yet, they sure do love their Vehicle Monitoring System. The WS02 was deleted, credentials were rotated and the server is shut down".

The message continues to read "Network Battalion isn't going to give you the IP, that would be too easy, now wouldn't it? Have a nice Monday fixing your spying tech. Glory to Ukraine. We won't stop until you stop dropping bombs, killing civilians and trying to invade" (we left out the colorful part at the end).

Another message by the hacking group says "Anonymous is not alone. NB65 has officially declared cyber war on Russia as well. You want to invade Ukraine? Good. Face resistance from the entire world" and then "All of us are watching. All of us are fighting".

40 SpaceX Satellites Destroyed By Geomagnetic Storm One Day After Launch - 40 SpaceX Satellites were destroyed by a geomagnetic storm just one day after they were launched into space. The geomagnetic storm caused them to fall from orbit and burn up in the atmosphere.

Solar storms are caused by large explosions on the surface of the sun which cause plasma and magnetic fields to shoot out and sometimes hit earth. Elon Musk, who owns the company SpaceX said that between 40 and 49 satellites were hit by the geomagnetic storm.

The satellites were on route to join the Starlink satellite internet project, where Musk has an agreement with Starlink to provide high-speed internet to places that normally do not have access to the internet, such as Tonga using thousands of satellites orbiting the earth.

SpaceX put out a statement regarding the matter saying "Onboard GPS suggests the escalation speed and severity of the storm caused atmospheric drag to increase up to 50% higher than during previous launches".

"Events like this are a reminder that space is challenging - getting satellites or astronauts into orbit is still not easy" they said.

Israel Will Have Lasers To Shoot Down Rockets Within A Year - Israel says that they will have the technology to shoot down rockets, drones and other threats with lasers within a year, and will surround themselves with a defensive 'laser wall'.

Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett stated during a speech that Israel will surround itself with a defensive 'laser wall' with new missile interception technology that should be ready within a year's time.

According to Bennett, the IDF will start to use the laser interception system within the next year. Experimentally at first and then operationally, starting out in the nation's South.

This will allow us, in the medium to long term, to surround Israel with a laser wall that will defend us from missiles, rockets, UAVs and other threats that will essentially take away the strongest card our enemies have against us" Bennett stated.

Bennett said that at the moment, a terrorist can shoot a rocket at Israel that costs hundreds of dollars to manufacture, while at the same time the Iron Dome missile battery costs tens of thousands of dollars.

"This equation doesn’t make sense. It allows [terrorists] to launch more and more Kassams and for us to shed many millions on a ‘lightning strike’ and billions during a campaign. We decided to break the equation, and it will be broken in only a few years" he stated.

North Korea Using Russian Made Navigation System Instead Of GPS For Its Ballistic Missile Launches - North Korea is using Russian made navigation systems instead of American made GPS system for its ballistic missiles according to a South China Morning Post news source allegedly close to the Chinese military.

The source told South China Morning Post that North Korea has been using Glonass and has 'benefited from Soviet technology'.

Andrei Chang who is editor-in-chief of the Canadian Kanwa Defence Review said "None of the anti-American countries [such as North Korea] will use GPS because of their worries about possible disruption or interference by the US military".

Chang stated that instead of using the American Global Positioning System, they use the Chinese BeiDou navigation system or Russia's global navigation satellite system which is also called Glonass.

The SCMP source, who wanted to remain anonymous said "Experts from Pyongyang assessed China’s BeiDou system as well as the Russian one and they decided Glonass was more suitable for the country’s geographic location, its high latitude, when launching missile".

"Moreover, it’s an open secret that the North has been benefited from the legacy of the former Soviet Union, which transferred intermediate-range missile technology to Pyongyang after signing the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty with the US".

China's BeiDou navigation system however is used by Iran and Pakistan's military according to the source.

"Iranian experts have managed to combine 12 civilian BeiDou signals and this – supported by their own calculations – gets it closer to the military version [used by the PLA] in terms of accuracy".

China Says It Has Developed Heat Seeking Hypersonic Missiles - China says they have developed heat seeking hypersonic missiles. Technology that the United States might not have until around 2025.

Heat seeking missiles are capable of locking onto nearly any target, even stealth aircraft and moving targets such as aircraft carriers and vehicles.

The United States Air Force has said that around 90 percent of the aircraft that it has lost over the years were shot down by heat seeking missiles.

Even the F-22 stealth fighter would be vulnerable to heat seeking missiles due to the fact that the material that coats the aircraft heat up during flight leaving a heat signature that can be tracked by heat seeking missiles.

China's New Hypersonic Glide Vehicle Can Stay In Orbit For Extended Period Of Time - Space Force Lieutenant General Chance Saltzman Says China's new hypersonic glide vehicle weapon can stay in space for an extended period of time and launch separate projectiles when carrying out a strike.

"I think the words that we use are important, so that we understand exactly what we’re talking about here" Saltzman said. "I hear things like hypersonic missile, and I hear suborbital sometimes".

"This is a categorically different system [Than a traditional ICBM], because a fractional orbit is different than suborbital. A fractional orbit means it can stay on orbit as long as the user determines and then it de-orbits it as a part of the flight path".

The comments by Saltzman are in agreement with comments by Air Force General John Hyten who said earlier this month that, "It went around the world, dropped off a hypersonic glide vehicle that glided all the way back to China, that impacted a target in China".

NASA Postpones Spacewalk Due To Debris Leftover From Russian Anti-Satellite Missile Test - NASA has postponed a planned spacewalk to repair a broken antenna due to the orbiting debris leftover due to the recent Russian anti-satellite missile test.

China's Hypersonic Test Last Summer Ejected An Unknown Payload - A new report by the Financial Times has come out that China's hypersonic glide vehicle test on July 27th ejected an unknown payload over the South China Sea, "as it approached its target traveling at least five times the speed of sound".

General John Hyten was interviewed by CBS News regarding the July 27th test and said, "It went around the world, dropped off a hypersonic glide vehicle that glided all the way back to China, that impacted a target in China".

The Financial Times article states that "some Pentagon experts believe the projectile was an air-to-air missile". Demetri Sevastopulo from the Financial Times reported that the hypersonic glide vehicle fired a "separate missile mid-flight in the atmosphere".

The report also refers to "experts at DARPA" who say that the payload that was dropped was possibly countermeasures being deployed which would likely be used to thwart missile systems such as those being developed by the United States.

US Space Force General Says Chinese And Russians More Advanced Than US On Hypersonic Missiles - US Space Force General David Thompson spoke at a security forum and said that the United States is not as advanced as the Chinese or Russians when it comes to Hypersonic missiles.

Thompson stated, "We are not as advanced as the Chinese or the Russians in terms of hypersonic programs. We have catching up to do very quickly, the Chinese have an incredible hypersonic program. It's a very concerning development ... it greatly complicates the strategic warning problem."

An report by the US congress had stated that Russia and China have "a number of hypersonic weapons programs" and have "likely fielded operational hypersonic glide vehicles - potentially armed with nuclear warheads".

Thursday, Russia test fired a Tsirkon hypersonic cruise missile from the Gorshkov frigate. The report by the US congress said, "China has also demonstrated a growing interest in Russian advances in hypersonic weapons technology" and that "Chinese papers on hypersonic weapons include references to Russian weapons programs".

Two hypersonic missile tests were carried out by China in August, one missile circled the globe at such a low altitude that US radars were entirely unable to detect it as it sped over 5 times the speed of sound.

China Launches Weapon That Can Take Out Satellites Under Guise Of Cleaning 'Space Debris' - A satellite has been launched by China that is supposed to be used for cleaning space debris, but has the capability to take out American satellites.

The Shijian-21 robotic satellite that was sent into space on Sunday on top of a rocket booster from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center is said to be "tasked with demonstrating technologies to alleviate and neutralize space debris" by the state run China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp.

The Shijian-21 satellite has a robotic arm that is not only capable of pulling in debris, but also capable of pulling in and destroying other satellites.

Air Force General James Dickinson from the U.S. Space Command said, "One notable object is the Shijian-17, a Chinese satellite with a robotic arm. Space-based robotic arm technology could be used in a future system for grappling other satellites".

The Shijian-21 is able to maneuver close to orbiting satellites, grapple onto them and then crush them, rendering them inoperable.
